Unleash your inner artist in a beginner’s class with the help of professional artists. You will learn the basic rules and how-to’s, but will be encouraged to have fun and trust your instincts allowing yourself to be freed by your creativity.
You will be introduced to a variety of visual techniques that may be developed in the form of projects, demonstrations or discussions. You will also be using materials and processes, getting familiarized with the use of different tools, sharing concepts and technique, etc.; all of which will develop in good studio work habits.
Teachers will usually introduce you to foundation and basics, depending on the type of class you choose you may be introduced to acrylic, enhance your creativity, be introduced to oil painting and develop your own style through these lessons.
Students will also practice their abilities in class, and will be given challenging but not too difficult hands-on practice to work in the classroom. Teaching will also be creative. Usually after classes you will be asked to find art related things in your everyday routines and surroundings. Follow up on these instructions and you will begin to think like an artist, you will begin to teach yourself!
- It is recommended to evaluate one's skill level to determine which class suits better for your needs.
- Try to identify your goals and reach them.
- Evaluate what type of artist you would like to become (oil, acrylic, watercolor, paining, sculpture, clay, bronze, etc)
- Expect to work outside the class. Normally, the best work that naturally represents you is the one you make outside the class.
- Have fun and don’t stress. This is an art class!
I used to paint a lot. Is this class only for beginners?
Classes are usually tailored to your needs and will vary depending your skills, however you are free to cut loose and take your painting where ever your creativity demands.
What should I wear?
Something comfortable and that you don't mind getting paint on, accidents happen!
What if I have not painted anthing since I was in school?
Usually artists will guide your through the painting, you really just need to be able to diferientati color and be able to write to hanlde the basics of painting. A relaxed attitude and a sense of experimentation will be the most importatn steps to a masterpiece!
