Shape Your Own Board

This three hour group workshop is an introductory course to shape your own board. You will learn the shaping bay layout with stands, lighting and racks and how it all works. You will be familiarized with the tools and how to use them safely.
The expert will discuss design elements with the class so that you can better understand the fundamentals and character of boards and fins. You will be taught how waves work and why they influence the surfboard design. You then get to decide what board to shape and ride as well as learn how to fix any mistakes. Create a template with measurements and to the end of the workshop you will design your own logo to personalize your board.
Includes written notes with the matters discussed in class.

Kits with materials, instructions, Tools, and support are sold separately and are made to order.
Do you have full size paper planes?
Yes. But they are not for everyone, so it might be better to discuss your skills with the expert so that you can find the kit that is right for you.
What are the basic tools needed for shaping a board?
You will learn this in the workshop in detail, however the main tools for shaping a surfboards are: sandpaper, surform, a David Plane, a spokeshave, a T-square, a C-caliper and a dust mask.
