A physical exercise and experience like you won´t believe. One of the iconic Olympic events and many peoples favorite to watch. Here’s your chance to get ingratiated into the world of rowing. Obviously a very physical sport but it has a very technical side to it too which is relatively unknown. You get to experience the rush that rowing gives you and also honing the techniques too. Taught on dry land first and then transferred to the water once you have received the training needed. A true personal approach. Ideal for someone who wants to get into rowing competitively but also accessible for people wanting a fun day out or to get a different form of exercise.
Beginners to advanced rowers are welcome as lessons are tailored to your experience and abilities. A safety briefing and use of rowing machines – perfect for teaching clients the basics of the rowing stroke.
A typical practice might consist of the following activities:
- Stretching
- Land coaching
- Practice of technique
- Body mechanics
- Rowing on the water using a training barge.
Boats may include the following:
- Single
- Doubles
- Quads (sculling)
- Four (sweeping)
If you want to produce a healthy competitive enviroment amongst groups we may be able to organize for you a head to head racing to finish off the day.
Will I get wet?
Once you start rowing in the single and double rowing shells, there is the chance that you may tip into the water, however most of the boats are very stable.
What do I wear?
Layers can become important as you will be in the water and it can be cool, however you will also be working out and it can warm you up. Slim fitting is always recommended to avoid your clothes getting caught in the slides. Try to wear pants that you can roll up, or shorts. Bring an extra set of clothes in the unlikely event that you get wet.
